My cousin who lives in Takaoka City gave me a papaya fruit a few weeks ago. She bought it from Costco. I was very happy. I had never seen a papaya since I came to Japan. In the Philippines, you can see papayas everywhere. You can buy it anytime of the year. We usually eat it like melons. We slice the fruit and use a spoon. Sometimes, we use papayas when cooking “tinola,” a Filipino chicken soup dish. Papaya is a delicious fruit. Have you tried one?

I visited a glass studio here in Funahashi Village last Monday. The place is called K’s Studio. It was my first time to see one. It was a great experience. I saw how glass artworks are made. I saw the materials and the large ovens that they use to make them. The people there are kind too. The owner also speaks English. She taught me a lot about making glass artworks. She said that I always have to focus and be careful when making one. I think I want to visit the studio again. Why don’t you see it too? It’s just near the school!

終了後、警察署の方に自分の身は自分で守る大切さについて、お話をしていただきました。
みんな真剣に耳を傾けていました。
実際に訓練をしてみて、たくさんの反省点も見つけることができました。
訓練の重要性を再確認したと思います。
このような機会を大切にし、真剣に取り組んでいきましょう。
２年生の総合的な学習の時間では、高校調べ等の進路学習が始まっています。
納得できる進路選択のために、今真剣に取り組んでほしいと思います。

The Toyama Grouses had a basketball game with the San-en Neophoenix last Saturday at the Toyama City Gymnasium. I watched it together with other Filipino English teachers in Toyama. We cheered for the Toyama Grouses. We also cheered for the Filipino players who played for each team, Dwight Ramos and Thirdy Ravena. My friends even brought a Filipino flag to show them support. We were glad because the Toyama Grouses won. The final score was 92 – 75. It was an exciting game. Almost all the people in the audience were clapping and cheering.

I had a wonderful time last Sunday! I went to Orange Park to join the Nen-ichi Enmusubi. I saw many of my students there. We took pictures together. I visited many booths and bought snacks, toys, and books. I joined challenges and won prizes. I watched many interesting performances. I also sang songs with my students. I even tried doing yoga with other people there too! I want to thank the kids and the parents who helped each other to make the event successful. It was really fun!
寒さが少しずつ厳しくなっていきます。コートや手袋などの防寒具をつけて登校する生徒も増えてきました。
今日は、「雪吊り」の作業が行われていました。いよいよ冬を迎えることになるのですね。

１年生が作製した本の「帯」と、図書委員による「読書紹介」が舟橋図書館で展示されました。
読書週間中、本校では「読書貯金通帳」活動を実施しました。読書週間は終わっても、秋の夜長は続きます。本は新しい世界への扉。自分にぴったりの本を探し当て、読書を楽しみましょう。
１１月８日から１２日までの５日間、「第２回 目にやさしい生活チェック週間」となっています。項目は、「メディアの使用時間」「就寝時刻」「立腰」「運動時間」「栄養バランス」の５つです。
昨日チェック用紙が配られました。普段より目によい生活習慣を意識して過ごしましょう！
