１４日（月）５・６限に、芸術家の吉野美奈子さんをお招きし、講演会をしていただきました。

全てのお話が大変勉強になりましたが、私は「明日は決して今日の続きではない」という言葉が特に印象に残りました。

生徒は集中してお話に耳を傾けていたと思います。

限りある人生、自分らしく輝いて生きていきたいですね。

Hello there!

The school gave me “fava beans” last Friday. It is called “soramame” in Japanese. Fava beans look just like soybeans, but they are much bigger. They are like giant soybeans. It was my first time to see one. I have never tasted fava beans before, so I was excited to cook and eat them. It was really easy to cook them. I just boiled them for three minutes. I couldn’t really tell the taste clearly, but I enjoyed eating them. They are good for snacks. I think I’ll buy fava beans if I see some in the supermarket.

６月１２日（土）、１３日（日）に開催される新川地区大会に向けて、壮行会が行われました。吹奏楽部の軽快な音楽で入場し、部活動ごとに大会に向けて、決意を表明しました。３年生は中学校生活最後の大会になる部もあります。今までの練習の成果を発揮し、悔いの残らない試合ができるよう、全校生徒、職員一同応援しています。

Hello there!

This is my plant in my room. I gave it a name, Tomoka. I bought it from the supermarket about two years ago. It was really short when I bought it. It had only few leaves before. Now, it’s a little taller and has many leaves. It also has two “baby plants” now. Every morning, I open the windows to give it sunlight. I water it once every two weeks. I have been living by myself for about two years in Japan already. I can’t have a pet in my apartment too. Sometimes it feels sad, but, thanks to my plant, Tomoka, I don’t feel alone.

新しい１週間が始まる月曜日。
制服も衣替えで夏服へと移行しました。

今日で、約１ヶ月間の教育実習が終わりました。
最後の帰りの会で、実習生の先生から「自分の興味のあることには、チャンスがあれば何でも挑戦してみよう。」といったメッセージが伝えられました。

みんな、真剣に耳を傾けていたと思います。

中学生の皆さんは、可能性のかたまりです！
先生からのメッセージを胸に、来週からの学校生活も頑張っていきましょう。

２年生の技術科でラディッシュを育てています。
昼休みや放課後に水やりをする姿が見られ、ほほえましいです。

余談ですが、中学生の時、夏休みの自由研究で「プチトマトに罵声と褒め言葉を毎日かけたら発育に違いがでるのか」について調べたことがあります。

結果は・・・なんと毎日褒め言葉をかけたトマトの方がはやく赤くなりました！
人も植物も同じなのかもしれません。

２年生のみなさん、水やりの際、あたたかい言葉をかけてあげたらさらにすくすく育つかもしれませんよ。実がなるのが楽しみですね。

Hello there!

My brother’s dog gave birth to 6 cute little puppies last week. (“Puppy” is another way to say “baby dog”.) Half of the puppies are boys, and the other half are girls. 4 are black, and 2 are mixed black and white. My brother wants to give the puppies to others because he already has 3 dogs. He can’t take care of new dogs any more. He promised to give one to my other brother and one to my father. I also want to get one, but it is very difficult to send a dog from the Philippines to Japan. I can’t have any pets in my apartment too. Maybe I have to wait for a few more years before I can have my pet.

６月は各部活動で大会があります。
月末には期末評価もあります。
計画的に過ごしたいですね。
