大変で、楽しい、さつまいも堀り！

I harvested sweet potatoes with my grade 1 and grade 2 students in the garden of the elementary school. We all wore gloves and dug the soil with our hands. There were so many sweet potatoes. We were surprised of how big and many they were. The small potatoes were easy to pull, while the big ones were hard to pull. We had to dig the soil deep to get them. We also had to be careful when pulling. If you pull too hard, the sweet potatoes would break. We were all dirty after the harvest. We were all tired, but everyone had a great time. We all shared laughter with each other. I’m looking forward to next year’s harvest.
