Hello there!
Can you feel the wind?
Can you smell the red flowers?
Look! Leaves are dancing.
This is a haiku in English. I wrote this last Monday. In Philippines, we learn haiku at
school. How do you write haiku in English? We use the 5-7-5 pattern too. We count the
sounds of the words. Can = 1, Feel = 1, Soft = 1, Leaves =1, Flowers = 2, and Dancing = 2.
Can you see the pattern now? Let’s try and write haiku in English!
